"Like Sabbath and Purple but Blacker and Deeper" - The Boston Phoenix

"Hefty drum beats, devastating guitar explosions, some Who-style vocals and we're just happy as clams to give them some love" - Light in the Attic

"With so many bands looking to the 80's for inspiration, rummaging through the dustbins of a more distant past may seem like a revelation. So it goes on the new self-titled album of Boston-based Township (out 10/28) on tracks like "Beaver Fever" and "Sinister Minister," where the songs are as good as their titles' rhymes and the band works up a churning 70's funk while it sweats out classic riffs. With sludgy grooves, scorching solos, and Southern Gothic operas, Township fires off a series of timeless anthems that resonate like sun-bleached Polaroids." - Boston Magazine

"The band had my attention from the get-go, especially with the song "Highway," which has this irresistible build to it; it's now one of my favorite driving songs. The buzz at the show was late 70's sound, and comparisons to Faces and Lynyrd Skynyrd were made; all I know is, when the band locked eyes with the audience and said "Let's get sexy," (tearing out the song "Big Bad") it made me get sexy, too....Rochester likes you, too, Township." - Rochester City Newspaper

"Township’s awe-inspiring rock histrionics are very present and the hits literally keep coming...Coming Home is a round-trip ending with a perfect nine-minutes-and-change finale that ends somewhere on the dark side of the moon. But by then, you’ll just want to start over again." - Northeast Performer

Carissa Johnson
Carissa Johnson
"Carissa Johnson takes more cues from Sleater Kinney than Evanescence, and her latest CD, For Now, is a straight-up rocker that recalls early aughts Boston bands Aloud and Damone." - the Hippo (Boston)

"Puts me in mind of the Go-Gos at a summit meeting with the Sex Pistols." - Francis Dimenno, Noise Magazine (Boston)

"Carissa Johnson's mis-steps are more fun to listen to than many people's successes, due in large part to her overwhelming enthusiasm in selling her songs"

"A whole lot of fun to watch and looking like she just stepped out of a Runaways album cover, Johnson brings a great 70's punk feel." J. Pappaconstantine, Maine Music News

"Solid arrangements with good hooks, honest delivery and a real hearken back to the beefy old school production style of the New York Dolls." - M. Puskas
The Rupert Selection
The Rupert Selection
The Rupert Selection was born in 2008 as a side project to high school classmates and friends Zak Brown, Reilly Somach, and Peter Crofton. At first just a fun side project, they turned the band into a serious endeavor in 2009, playing dozens of shows in 2010 and releasing their debut self-produced album "Conspiritorium" in early 2011. The band played across New England steadily, focusing primarily on garnering a fanbase in Boston, as well as in their native North Shore area. Since then, the band has continued to write new original material while staying more active than ever, developing a growing and loyal fanbase in the process and playing countless shows throughout New England and beyond. 2016 has been busier than ever, with their first tour in August (Boston, Providence, Philadelphia, New York) another in October (New Jersey, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Delaware), the release of their first official single and self directed music video for “Funeral Party”, airplay on 107.3 WAAF and 100.7 WZLX, and countless shows throughout Boston and the New England area. In addition to playing 40+ shows this year alone, sessions for a full length studio album are in full swing at The Bridge Sound and Stage in Cambridge, MA with producer/engineer Alex Allinson. Their first single is set to be released at the end of November, with the full record to follow in early 2017, supported by extensive touring. With their high energy shows and creative blending of genres, The Rupert Selection is not a band to be missed.
