Petty Morals to Release 4th EP, F*ck You Let’s Party, with an Arts and Music-Driven Matinee Spectacular at ONCE Somerville in October 2017

The party ladies of Petty Morals have been hard at work divining the inspiration for their next EP release. Many many things inspire these gals, but it became apparent that the most obvious answer is usually the best… PARTYING. Upon discovering that 100% of the song lyrics scream: 1. being awesome, 2. hating jerks, and 3. having fun, it was a no-brainer! Petty Morals then sat with fellow Boston rock and rollers, Muck and the Mires, to collaborate and brainstorm (aka: day-drink whiskey cocktails at The Independent in Somerville). Thus, the monumental event, Petty Morals’ Ballroom Blitz was drunkenly born.

What started as a simple EP release show quickly turned into a celebration stew of epic proportions. Just throw in a healthy portion of art, crafts, and tunes for listening and buying and make it a Sunday matinee on a holiday weekend in the beautiful New England fall, and you’ve got the recipe for a tasty rock gala! These bombastic babes quickly recruited Boston-area music promoter Alyssa Spector of Lysten Boston to present the show, local bartender and stylist Cherryl Hanson-Bull to plan the “rockin’ flea” portion, and rock photographer Nicole Tammaro to coordinate the punk rock art show. The rest is sure to be beer-soaked, broken-bottled history in the true spirit of Desolation Boulevard, 1975.

Speaking of The Sweet… not only did Petty Morals name this event after their 1973 hit, but the tracks on F*ck You Let’s Party are pretty damn glammy. Saturday Night Slacks is a straight up party anthem that will get you dancing and pumping your fist, while Mean Girls (released in December 2016 as a single with an accompanying music video) and Throwing Rocks are synth-driven melodic singalongs full of ‘ooh whoas’ and ‘na na nas’. Bulletproof and All The Wrong Guys round out the rock with driving guitars and empowering lyrics that will help you brush that dirt off your shoulder. The album ends with Petty Morals’ only recorded cover, a solid rendition of Let’s Go, by one of their biggest Boston-bred rock star influences, The Cars.

So join Petty Morals at ONCE Somerville for their raucous matinee on Sunday October 8th, 2017 with special guests The Dazies, Muck and the Mires, and Lady Pills. Tickets are $10 advance/$13 day of show and available HERE. Doors at 2pm for the rockin’ flea and art show (free admission for the early part), and music starts promptly at 4:15pm. It’s a holiday weekend, so no wimping out or having to call in sick to work the next day. Stay tuned for more information on the flea market vendors and art show creators.
