Federator No 1
Federator No 1
Federator N°1 is a massive positive groove band that brings together afrobeat and afro-dance music in an exceptional live experience. Originals and arrangements of familiar tunes are at once both deeply traditional and unapologetically modern. Made up of Berklee professors and experienced professional touring musicians, this local Boston band is a musical force of nature.
Air Congo
Air Congo
Boston-based African style band AIR CONGO play music from the 1960’s-70’s Kinshasa/Brazzaville scene–the music of Docteur Nico, Tabu Ley, Les Bantous De La Capitale, Franco et l’Orch TPOK Jazz, and more! Drawing inspiration from the instrumental sessions that Congolese musicians recorded to be played on the jets of Congo Air, our instrumental readings of this amazing music are upbeat dance ravers of another age. The group has played many club and festival concerts in 2017 giving performances that reward the relaxed listener and inspired dancer alike. The group is led by guitarist Nathaniel Braddock, also the leader of the much celebrated Occidental Brothers Dance Band Int'l. He is joined in this group by a cast of Boston's hottest jazz and world music players: Nigel Yancey on alto saxophone, Ryan Loud and Ben Paulding on percussion, and Sagar Chandrashekar on electric bass.
