Boston Beats a night of Boston's best local hip-hop and r&b featuring:

Red Shaydez, Brandie Blaze, Solo Sexx and Genie Santiago

Red Shaydez
Red Shaydez
Red Shaydez of Boston MA, is a multifaceted Hip Hop Artist who began rapping at the tender age of seven. Her father who is now her Merchandise Manager, introduced her to Hip-Hop in the late 90’s as member of his own group called Killin’ Field. “I was able to observe studio sessions, accompany my father during his guerrilla marketing efforts, and soon thereafter I developed a strong love for music”, Red Shaydez says. Like many rap artists before her, Red Shaydez transitioned from poetry to rap during her teen years. By the time she reached early adulthood, she knew that music was her calling. She has a story to tell, which is evident in her music. She also has a degree in film and video (minor in sociology) and has strong visuals for her records. “Everything has to be cinematic”, she exclaims. “They bring my songs to life”. Red has always wanted to convey a positive message to the people by way of being a motivational speaker and a recording artist. She also wants her supporters to have a good time while listening to her music. Fortunately, she found a way to balance both. It’s the Libra in her.

Solo Sexx
Solo Sexx
Forged deep in the psychedelic undertow of UMass basements, sticky floored queer clubs, house parties, porches, and backyards, Solo Sexx has been serving rude and riotous Salt-n-Pepa-meets-Buzzcocks-meets-Shangri Las realness since 2008. Since then, they've glittered and grinded all up over New England and beyond, performing at the Boston Freedom Rally, touring the East Coast, rocking festivals and events for the likes of Girls Rock Camp Boston, the Human Rights Campaign, Yes All Women, and more--all while bringing their unique brand of fearless flavor to audiences who leave wondering how they ever survived sans-Sexx.

With a fearless sense of humor and a no-holds barred attitude, Solo Sexx turns the hip-hop hypocrites on their head and leads fans to a whole new horizon: with home cooked beats and outta sight rhymes covering everything from being broke (not for long), being white (last they checked), and being free to perform the self pleasure their name is shouting, Solo Sexx proves that the alternative to the add-water-and-stir rap chumpitude is funkier, fresher, and just plain sexxier than ever before.
Genie Santiago
Genie Santiago
Genie Santiago is a Boston based singer, songwriter, and poet. Emerging from rough beginnings, her music and poetry reflect the many obstacles she overcame throughout life. Despite the negative, Genie Santiago always found solace in music. It was a way for her to escape reality. She began writing songs and performing in elementary school and continued to grow as an artist into womanhood. It wasn't until 2017 when Genie Santiago decided to invest all her energy and love into music as a career. It truly became her main priority and focus in life. Her goal is to empower women all over the globe to love themselves unconditionally and stray from the ideals of self hatred that society has placed upon them. Genie Santiago's debut EP, “Know Your Worth", portrays this powerful message for all to hear. The sounds of R&B, Hip-Hop, Dancehall, and Pop can all be found in her music.
